*** APRIL 24, 2020 *** UPDATE ON COVID-19

April 24, 2020

Hello Church! It’s been more than a month now since we last met at our church building. We hope you are doing well and staying safe. We praise the Lord and are so thankful to God for His love and protection (Psalm 91) that none of us has contracted this virus.

We’re encouraged to learn that more people have been attending our online Sunday worship services, and our members continue to give to our church through different means.

We’d like to take this opportunity to appreciate and thank our frontline digital and production teams. They put in a lot of effort and tirelessly work behind the scenes to record videos and prepare communications for us.

Taking care of you and each other…

If you know of any needs whether they are physical, emotional or spiritual among our church, please let us know through the pastors, or fellowship and small group leaders. We will not leave anyone behind, and we’re here to care for you and each other.

Now that we have a new rhythm of doing church differently, here’s a summary:

  • Join us to pray for each other at our Wednesday night prayer meetings:    [ English ]     [ Cantonese ]    [ Mandarin ]
  • Our Pastors’ Wednesday devotions are a great source of spiritual strength and personal touch. Listen in at the same links above for the videos.
  • Take part in Sunday worship as we get together to sing and praise God, and listen to His Word we seek to obey (https://www.ecac.ca/). We welcome your interaction through YouTube or email to help us connect with each other.

We also invite you to join our online Sunday service early before service starts! Our online stream will be open 15 minutes before service for you to prepare your hearts and also join in live chat.

Regretfully, baptismal services in May and our Open House scheduled for June 27 have been cancelled for public health reasons.… Click here to read more

*** APRIL 18, 2020 *** UPDATE ON COVID-19

April 18, 2020

We hope everyone is adjusting well during the COVID-19 pandemic. We sincerely pray that you will be safe, stay healthy and be well cared for.

Non-medical face masks.

Thank you for your great response to the DIY masks in order to reduce viral transmission in this global pandemic. A lot of the DIY masks have been distributed to our ECAC community member, fantastic!

Starting next week, in working with the Hamptons League our effort will be shifted to offer the DIY face masks to our neighbours as a way to add value to the lives of the Hamptons community we are in. Therefore, the deadline for your mask request is April 19th Sunday midnight.

You can send us your requests according to our language groups:

For EMC community : [email protected]
For CMC community : [email protected]
For MMC community : [email protected]

Please pray for the masks production team for their sacrificial giving of materials, equipment and labour. Their love to the Lord is very inspiring.

Below is a video to show you how to properly wear the mask.

Different ways of Offering

The response to “different ways of offering” continues to be active and steady. We have had over thirty-five brothers and sisters registering to use the e-Transfer service and even more brothers/sisters are sending donations to church via mail and drop-off. Your faithfulness in financial stewardship is indeed heart-warming and much appreciated. May the Lord continue to bless and provide all your needs in these difficult times.

New Development:

  1. Due to the uncertainty created by COVID 19, the Elder Board has decided to cancel JMC’s programs including VBS and David Camp this summer. As well, our Open House on June 27 will be cancelled.
  2. The Elder Board is consulting with our Western Canadian District office in planning to convene our next Annual Membership Member (AMM). Please pray for the IT Team in working out the logistics in making the AMM a smooth process.

Happy Easter Church! May the love of God and the resurrection power of our Lord Jesus be with you all.

We hope everyone is adjusting well to the new normal. We sincerely pray that you will be safe, stay healthy and be well cared for.

Non-medical face masks:

We are aware of the public Health benefits of wearing non-medical masks to decrease transmission of the coronavirus.  Over this past week, both the chief public health doctors of Canada and Alberta have spoken to encourage Canadians to wearing a non-medical mask. https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/edmonton/alberta…-1.5523361

To help our ECAC community in this pandemic, ECAC is offering DIY cloth masks to our community free of charge with a limited supply. We can provide you with two masks for each adult in your family for essential activities such as grocery shopping, getting medications, etc.  Sincerely we thank a group of creative and loving brothers and sisters for making these cloth masks.

Below is a video to show you how to properly wear the mask.

You can send us your requests according to our language groups:

For CMC community, please contact your Fellowship communities and Small Group leaders to organize the order and drop off. If you are not part of those groups, please send your requests to [email protected]

For MMC community, please send your requests to  [email protected]

For EMC community, please contact your TYF, Summit Fellowship leaders and Small Group leaders to organize the order and drop off. If you are not part of those groups, please send your requests to [email protected]
