- Pastor Miranda is on vacation until Oct 31, then on sabbatical from Nov 1 to April 30. Please keep her in your prayers.
- October 30th, 7 pm we will have a session on Reaching Islamic Culture and Religion led by Pastor Richard Raya in the Worship Centre.
- Groups using the church kitchen must have a certified Kitchen Supervisor present. Anyone trained before 2025, or trained but not yet serving, must retake the training: Sun, Nov 1, 1:30–3:15pm. Space is limited. Register at soling.tam@ecac.ca.
- The last Leadership Onboarding lecture by Pastor Arthur will be held on Tuesday, October 27th, 8:30-9:30pm on Zoom. The topic is “Leadership Covenant”. This is a mandatory class for all who hold leadership positions at ECAC, or those who wish to explore Christian leadership.
- Dance Workshop – Sun, Dec 6: Ballroom dance (waltz, cha cha & rumba) in the Dynamic Center. Lunch 12:45pm; workshop 1:30–4:30pm. $25/couple with lunch, $10/couple workshop only; childcare $5/child (ages 3–12). No experience needed! Open to all. Register by Dec 2 using the QR code.
Elder Nominations
The report of the Elder Nominating Committee (ENC) has been posted on the church office bulletin board and disseminated to the membership via email. Please review before the Annual Membership Meeting (November 15). After months of discernment and prayer, it seems good to the Holy Spirit and to the ENC that Gordon Crawford, Terry Gee, Caleb Kwok and Rocky To be nominated for a 2-year term. The ENC also discerned that incumbent elders Jimmy Kwong, Ken Lam, Simon Roa, Joannes Wong and William Wong be nominated for another 2-year term. If there are any questions, please contact any member of the ENC (Pastor Arthur Wong, Elder Philip Chow, Elder Joannes Wong, June Cheung and Ken Poon).
In accordance with Article 7.4 of our bylaw, additional nominations for elders may be made by any voting member provided that: (a) the nomination is submitted to the chairman of the nominating committee (i.e., Pastor Arthur Wong) no later than two Sundays preceding the date of the meeting at which the election is to take place (i.e., November 1 at 11:59:59pm); and (b) the nomination bears the written acceptance of the nominee as well as the signature of a seconder who is a voting member.
