Churchwide Ministry:
- Praise the Lord! The offering for 55th Anniversary ticket cost is enough to cover the shortfall. Thank you for your love and support.
- The report of the Elder Nominating Committee (ENC) has been posted on the church office bulletin board and disseminated to the membership via email. Please review before the Annual General Meeting (November 16). After months of discernment and prayer, it seems good to the Holy Spirit and to the ENC that we nominate Anlin Wen for another two year term (2026-2027) as elder. If there are any questions, please contact any member of the ENC (Pastor Arthur, Jared Fath, Lena Cheung, Richard Li, and Jimmy Kwong).
In accordance with Article 7.4 of our bylaw, additional nominations for elders may be made by any voting member provided that: (a) the nomination is submitted to the chairman of the nominating committee (i.e., Pastor Arthur Wong) no later than two Sundays preceding the date of the meeting at which the election is to take place (i.e., November 2 at 11:59:59pm); and (b) the nomination bears the written acceptance of the nominee as well as the signature of a seconder who is a voting member.
- Annual Members Meeting will be held in person on Sunday, November 16, 11am in the Dynamic Center. EMC and MMC will have a joint service in the Worship Center at 9:30am, while CMC will have their 9:30am service in the Dynamic Center. Please check your name on the membership list posted outside the office bulletin board. If you have any concerns, please contact the church office immediately.
- Deadline for Donation in Kind for 2025: In order for the church to process all Donation In Kind and ensure that the donations are counted for the 2025 tax year, the deadline for making donation in kind of stocks, mutual funds and ETFs is onSunday, November 23, 2025. This means that a Completed DIK form MUST be submitted to Ken Lam (ken.lam@ecac.ca) or Stewart Wong (stewart.wong@ecac.ca) by November 23. Any incomplete form or late submission may not be able to process in time to have the donation included in the 2025 tax year. For any questions, please contact Ken Lam or Stewart Wong.
- A flu-vaccine clinic will be held on Sunday November 2 from 9-9:30am, 10:45-11:15am, and 12:30-1pm in the church office area. Those who wish to be vaccinated at this clinic must (1) bring their health card; (2) have not have any allergic reaction to previous flu vaccines; (3) five years of age and older on November 2; and (4) either print and fill out the form ahead (hard copy can be picked up outside the church office / click the Flu Immunization Consent Form link) or fill it out on that day. Please wear clothing that is convenient for receiving a needle.
- Worship Center (WC) carpets will be professionally cleaned on Monday November 10th. Please help move chairs from inside the WC to the lobby after EMC service on Sunday November 9th at 12:30pm. Bookings for WC will not be available from November 10 – 14. Any fellowship groups that meet on Friday November 14th are asked to come at 7pm to help return the chairs into the WC.
- The Elders Board has approved a new Facilities Usage and Internal Booking policy. You may obtain a physical copy from the church office or read it on the bulletin board outside the office. All active members of ECAC who wish to use or book our facilities must read and sign this policy, and return a signed copy to the church office. For any further questions, please ask elder Anlin Wen or any member of the Facilities Management Committee.
