JMC Children's Ministry
“O God, with all our hearts, we long for You. Come, transform us to be Christ-centered, Spirit-empowered, Mission-focused people, multiplying disciples everywhere.”
– Vision Prayer of the Alliance Church
Our Tenets
The Junior Ministry Congregation (JMC) is committed to pursuing the vision of ECAC: Turning people into fully devoted followers of Christ. We love to learn and teach about Jesus and diving deep into God’s word. There are three tenets that guide the ministry work of JMC:
Encouraging Family Discipleship and Worship
Deuteronomy 6:4-9; Joshua 24:15, Ephesians 6:4; 2 Timothy 1:5
Imparting Biblical and Theological Knowledge
Colossians 3:16; 2 Timothy 3:14-16
Equipping the Saints to be Disciple Makers
Matthew 28:19-20; Ephesians 4:11-13
For all JMC-related inquiries, please contact jmc@ecac.ca.
Registration
How To
Parents or guardians need to register their children for each of the ministries they would like to join. The simplest way to register is to go online or download the Church Center App. Guests visiting ECAC may also go to the First Impressions Team table to register their children on the day of the ministry program.
Register Online or Scan the QR Code to Download the App!

Fees
Except for Vacation Bible School (VBS), David Camp, and Hand Chime and Children & Youth Choir, all ministries do not require payment. However, parents/guardians are encouraged to teach young children to make monetary offerings at fellowship and worship, and youths to make regular offerings at worship services.
Get Involved
As a Body of Christ, each of us have an indispensable role to play (1 Corinthians 12). If the Holy Spirit is prompting you to serve with JMC, please sign up here [REGISTRATION FORM] or contact jmc@ecac.ca. All who serve in JMC must pass a police check (anyone 18 years of age and over), have a current Plan to Protect, be interviewed by the ministry coordinator, and attend relevant training sessions.
Programs
JMC Children’s Ministry is intended for infants to children aged 12 (~Grade 6). For older children and youth, check out the JMC’s Youth Ministry’s programs.

Sparks & Glow
Saturday, 3:00 pm – 5:00 pm
Sparks and Glow (S&G) is a Saturday fellowship for children 5-12 years of age. It is a time for true koinonia – fellowship with God and with one another! It will begin on Saturday September 12, please register your children today!
Children first gather at the Dynamic Center for opening assembly which includes prayer, tithes and offering, and announcements. Afterwards, Sparks (aged 5-8) and Glow (aged 9-12) will either stay in the Dynamic Center for games or go to classrooms for Bible teaching and then switch around! This year, we will be using The Books of the Bible curriculum. Parents and guardians are encouraged to purchase the four The Books of the Bible for Kids and read it with their children daily. Please contact jmc@ecac.ca if you need help obtaining these books.

WeeCare
Sunday, 9:30 am – 12:30 pm
WeeCare is for children ages 3 and under. From September to Christmas, we will be starting a new unit called “When We Disobey: Sin Separates us from God” and “God’s Gift is Jesus”. We still need more ministry workers for the 9:30-10:45am slot! Reach out to weecare@ecac.ca for questions or ministry opportunities.

Discovery (Sunday School)
Sunday, 9:30 am – 10:45 am, in the education wing
Discovery is a part of the Deep Divers program and is a “Sunday School” styled ministry where children from the age of 4 –12 explore the Bible in a 3-year cycle. It is based on the FAiTHWEAVER Sunday School curriculum that helps kids gain a deeper understanding of the Bible and what God is calling them to do in every–day life. Parents and guardians are given take-home materials to spend family time in learning God’s word together! We are looking for teachers and teaching assistants! For questions, reach out to jmc@ecac.ca.

Plunge (Children's Worship)
Sunday, 11:15 am – 12:30 pm
Plunge is a part of the Deep Divers program and is a time for kids ages 3-12 to worship with the English-speaking congregation, to receive Bible teaching, and to spend time reflecting in small groups. This year, we will be using Kids Own Worship: Children’s Church as a curriculum, which is in sync with the FAiTHWEAVER Sunday School curriculum. We are looking for more large-group teachers and small group facilitators!
Parents and guardians are asked to check in their children at the Education Wing before 11:15 am so leaders can bring them to the Worship Center to join the congregation in singing worship songs. On special occasions, there will be teaching and prayer for the children in the service before they are dismissed. Afterwards, they will be brought back to room 145 for a large group gathering where there will be Bible lessons followed by small group discussions. Kids will be encouraged to practice prayer and to offer tithes and offerings. Kids who arrive after 11:15am are asked to enter the Worship Center with their parents or guardians and check in when the kids are dismissed at the English-speaking service. For more information, reach out to jmc@ecac.ca.

Wednesday Prayer Meeting
Wednesday, 7:30 pm, Online
The Alliance Canada has a saying, “We do nothing until we pray!” Prayer is the most important meeting at JMC. Join us on Wednesdays to seek the Lord in prayer! Most prayer gatherings take place on Zoom. Occasionally, it will be held in person on Fridays. Reach out to jmc@ecac.ca for more information and to receive the Zoom link.

Hand Chime and Children & Youth Choir
Hand Chime and Children & Youth Choir provide meaningful opportunities for children and youth to develop their musical gifts while growing in Christian character, discipleship, and worship.
Looking ahead to the 2026–2027 ministry year, we are excited to continue nurturing young musicians and worshippers. Plans include establishing clear participant expectations, recruiting additional volunteers, expanding outreach opportunities, and welcoming students from both our church community and the wider community. Cost will be $50 per season or $80 for both (September – December, January – April). Registration begins on Sunday April 23. Reach out to jmc@ecac.ca for more information.

First Impressions Team (FIT)
Saturday & Sunday
FIT is responsible for the checking in of children and youth on Saturdays and Sundays. They are not only the welcoming team, but also act as hallway monitors to ensure a safe ministry environment. We need more parents and adults to help in this important aspect of JMC! Contact jmc@ecac.ca for ministry opportunities.

JMC Library
We are in the process of rebuilding a JMC library that offers books for children, youth, and families! If you have any recommendations or donations, please contact our JMC librarian Alina Qi (alina.qi@ecac.ca).

JMC Communication Team
Whether it is the Plunge, Discovery, Youth Worship or Sunday School, we need assistants to help teachers and leaders! We need all the help we can get! Please contact jmc@ecac.ca for ministry opportunities.
